摘要

On an optical disk, a high-resolution picture file containing high-resolution picture data, an index file containing a prescribed number of low-resolution picture data, management file containing information about the correlation between the high- and low- resolution picture data, and a management information table which is used for managing the relative positions between the high-resolution picture file and index file are recorded. A reproducing device reproduces the index file based on the data in the management file and on the management information table and forms a picture displayed on a monitoring device from the prescribed number of low-resolution picture data contained in the reproduced index file. Therefore, an index picture can be displayed at a high speed, because the plurality of low-resolution picture data can be read out by one access.
