The transport system involves the forks of a fork lift truck (1) raising the palette-type frame on the pick-up shoes (2). The support mast (3) is arranged midway between the pick-up shoes and is height adjustable. A commercially available drum gripper (4) is fitted to the support mast. The height adjustment facility (5) of the mast allows both large and small size drums to be handled.
