A ferrule holder 30 of an optical fibre connector has an elongate tubular body. One end of the body has a plurality of coaxially extending tines 34 arranged to permit the insertion of a ferrule 22 therebetween. An annular or part annular compression element 38 is a force fit over the tines thereby to effect clamping of the ferrule between the tines.
