The car has a door (2) where both sides (2a,2b) are releasably joined to the corresponding sides of the opening (3) of the bodywork (1) by first and second joints (4a,4b). Releasable fastening devices (5a,5b) are provided between each side of the door and the corresponding sides of the opening. The door can be selectively opened from one or other of the two sides. The door and the opening in the bodywork have symmetrical shapes in relation to a vertical axis.
