Pressing tubular outlet tube against outflow of metallurgical vessel

A ladle distribution pipe (4) or immersion tube is pressed against a discharge outlet of a metallurgical vessel by an arrangement of a circular groove (5) on the pipe, connected via an Ar line to a control unit (7). When the pipe is connected to the outlet, a measuring unit (8) measures the flow rate of Ar and, if greater than the target value, the control unit commands hydraulic cylinders (14) to adjust the lever (16) of a manipulator (3) to increase pressure. The inert gas pressure is maintained constant during pouring.
