The invention concerns a floor or wall element having a carrier layer (12) and a covering layer (14). Elements of this type were hitherto made of timber materials and are, therefore, fundamentally sensitive to moisture. The novel floor or wall element is insensitive to moisture and high or low air humidity levels. To this end, the carrier layer (12) comprises a plastics profiled member extruded in the Celuca or free-foaming process and cut to length. This floor or wall element, which is comparatively economical to produce, is completely insensitive to moisture and can even be used in wet rooms. |
