Air-cooled transmitter amplifier

An air-cooled transmitting amplifier has two amplifier modules (2, 3) that are mounted vertically one above the other and are separated by an air distribution unit (5). The housing is constructed with ducting such that air is drawn in along one side (9) and enters the centre duct where it is split into several partial flows (6) directed across the surfaces of the amplifiers. Power distribution networks (12, 13) are positioned adjacent to the modules and the centre one has a heat sink (14). Air drawn across the amplifiers is directed to ducts (7, 8) and then passes to outlet.
