Vehicle bodywork with welded flange

The vehicle bodywork has a first body panel sheet (1), i.e. the bottom sheet, against which another body panel sheet (4,5) forming the wheel recess. The first sheet has a welding-on flange (2,3) at both its outer edges. At least one crease (10,11) in the first sheet runs parallel to the welding-on flange. This makes possible the deformation of the first sheet transversely to the plane of the welding-on flange. The first body panel sheet may form the bottom, with a second one (2) for the wheel recess. The rear frame (6,7) may be welded from below to the first sheet via the crease.
