New central nervous system agents conform to formula I: wherein R = H or C1-4 alkoxy; X = CH or N; Y = NH, O or S; Z = C1-4 alkyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl, C2-3 alkenyl, NH2, C1-4 alkylamino, or C1-4 alkoxyalkyl, with the proviso that Z may not be CH3 when R=H, X=CH, and Y=NH and Z may not be CH3 when R=H, X=N and Y=NH and NHC(O)Z is in the para- position.
