CONNECTING METHOD FOR PLASTIC POWER CABLE

PURPOSE: To provide connections for plastic power cables having good bonding between insulation blocks and cable insulators and having no peeling-off at the interface or no corona discharge at that portion. CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical insulation block is attached to a conductor connecting portion and an end of a cable insulator to be connected, and the insulation block is heated, pressed and melted with the cable insulator as one united body in a connecting method for plastic power cable; in this case, a mean residual shrinkage length of the inner diameter of the insulation block formed and processed in advance should be more than 1.5 times the difference of outer diameter after removing an external semi-conductive layer of the cable insulator to be connected to the inner diameter of the insulation block before shrinkage and the insulation block should have a ratio of more than 4% to the inner diameter of the insulation block before shrinkage.
