<p>PURPOSE: To improve productivity and quality stability by fixing doughnut planar stopping pieces to the opening edges of stay holes of the skin, providing stays of inserts with hollow grooves or small projections in prescribed positions and detaining these stopping pieces with these hollow grooves or small projections. CONSTITUTION: The skin 1 is previously sewn to a cover shape of a head rest A and a tongue piece 13 is disposed on the inner side of the skin 1. The inserts 2 are first inserted into the skin 1 from the aperture 12 enclosed by the tongue piece 13 and base parts 21 are disposed in the skin 1. The stays 22 are then inserted into the stay holes until the stays 22 are projected outside the skin. The stopping pieces 4 are fitted into the hollow grooves 23 of the stays 22 and the opening edges of the skin are positioned to the hollow groove positions of the stays 22. The stopping pieces 4 are composed of thin pieces having the bore slightly smaller than the diameter of the stays 22 and, therefore, the stopping pieces 4 are fitted onto the stays 22 with some elastic deformation and are detained into the hollow grooves 23 by elastically restoring the initial shape in the hollow groove 23 parts. The stopping pieces fit into the deep groove parts and are hardly disengeable therefrom when the pieces are once fitted therein.</p> |
