PURPOSE: To improve the operability by recognizing a gesture symbol or the like altogether later so as to smooth the edit proof-reading of a document. CONSTITUTION: A gesture symbol or a character is entered on a transparent tablet 4 at a corrected location via a pen 6 and when the pen 6 is lifted up from the tablet 4 for a prescribed time, the partition of the entry is discriminated and the entered symbol or character is displayed on an LCD 1 while being surrounded by a frame. Then gesture symbols used for the correction are recognized. Since they are partitioned, each symbol is displayed on the LCD 1 while being surrounded by a frame, and the symbols are selected in the order of desired recognition and then recognized. Even when new gesture symbols or characters are entered, they are not recognized on the occasion of the entry, stroke data are preserved and they are recognized sequentially later for each of the entered gesture symbols and characters, and then edition is conducted while reflecting the effect of the gesture symbols recognized already to remaining data. |
