PURPOSE: To evenly introduce exhaust gas passing an exhaust manifold to a whole body of a catalyst carrier of a catalyst device. CONSTITUTION: Front and rear exhaust passages 212 , 234 of an exhaust manifold M which are connected to a cylinder head of a four-cylinder internal combustion engine are collected at an exhaust passage collection part 3. A catalyst device C which is connected to a portion immediately below the exhaust passage collection part 3 has a core part 7 for introducing exhaust gas to an inlet end surface 61 of a catalyst carrier 6. Extended lines L1 , L2 of axes of the exhaust passages 2, 2 are directed to positions a1 , a2 which are separated from each other by 180 degrees at a peripheral edge of the inlet end face 61 of the catalyst carrier 6, in a crossing manner. An inner wall of the core part 72 approaches the extended lines L1 , L2 of the axes at its side of the catalyst carrier 6, with an acute angleθ. The exhaust gas is guided by the core part 7. and dissused in an oriented manner to a diameter direction and a circumferential direction, and flowed evenly to the inlet end face 61 of the catalyst carrier 6.
