<p>PURPOSE: To improve visibility at the time of high speed reproduction, to facilitate the detection of the search target point of a user and to improve usability. CONSTITUTION: A reproduction device which can reproduce and output a video to a disk where compressed video data (I, P and picture) coexist and are recorded is provided with a high speed reproduction operation control means and a video output control means. The high speed reproduction operation control means repetitively executes a reading operation for first picture data from the disk and a track jump at the time of a high speed reproduction operation. The video output control means respectively reduction-processes I picture data which are sequentially read by the high speed reproduction operation and outputs display picture data obtained by sequentially allocating reduced picture data in prescribed display areas G1 -G9 so as to generate them. Thus, the videos reproduced by the high speed reproduction operation are respectively and sequentially displayed in the respective display areas as split pictures on a display screen. At the time of high speed reproduction, sound data is simultaneously outputted.</p> |
