LUBRICANT COMPOSITION FOR PREVENTING SKIN ROUGHNESS OF ABRASION-RESISTANT CAST STEEL ROLLING ROLL AND ROLLING OF STEEL USING THE LUBRICANT COMPOSITION

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition capable of reducing the formation of an oxide film on the surface of a rolling roll and having a persisting effect by adding a carboxylic acid anhydride to a highly basic alkaline earth metal sulfonate. CONSTITUTION: This composition preferably having a kinematic viscosity of <=1000mm<2> /s at 40 deg.C comprises (A) a lubricant comprising a highly basic alkaline earth metal sulfonate (preferably a highly basic calcium sulfonate having a basic value of >=100) preferably in an amount of 100 pts.wt. and (B) a carboxylic acid anhydride (preferably pentenyl succinic acid anhydride, octenyl succinic acid anhydride, benzoic acid anhydride, toluic acid anhydride, etc.,) preferably in an amount of 0.5-50 pts.wt. The component A preferably further contains (i) at least one of a mineral oil and an ester or (ii) spherical silica particles having particle diameters of 5-20μm.
