PURPOSE: To prevent the deterioration in the recording characteristics of an optical recording medium by protecting the thin film layers of the medium with an org. protective layer. CONSTITUTION: This optical recording medium consists essentially of a substrate, thin film layers and an org. protective layer made of a layer of a cured body of a chemical beam-curable resin compsn. based on a polymerizable monomer. Since the hardness of the protective layer measured with steel wool is rank 2 or above at the face adhering to the thin film layers, this optical recording medium is excellent in thin film layer protecting property, can prevent the deterioration of the recording characteristics and ensures satisfactory signal quality. |
