PURPOSE: To provide a sealing device which has a ring-shaped backup material between the back of each tip and a reinforcing ring and which prevents rubber from extruding from the gap between the backup and reinforcing ring to become foreign matter during service. CONSTITUTION: To make shaft seal of a fluid with pressure, a sealing device is provided with a ring-shaped backup material between the back of each lip 4 and a reinforcing ring 2, wherein a plurality of ring-shaped grooves 17 are furnished at the surface of the reinforcing ring 2 which receives the backup material 3. |
