PURPOSE: To shorten the printing time by checking the formats of plural documents before they begin to be printed, and merging documents in the same format into one document in a memory part and outputting the document as one output unit when the documents in the same format are continuing. CONSTITUTION: A selected document name list is displayed at a display part and when the number of the name of a document to be printed is indicated, the number of the selected document is displayed at the upper part on the display screen. A format management file 5 contains format information on the numbers of lines, line spacing, the numbers of characters, etc., by the documents. A format decision part 6 decides the documents in the same format among the specified documents by referring to the format management file 5. The memory part 7 is stored with the specified documents after the format decision part 6 decides the documents in the same format. A document merging process part 8 merges the decided documents in the same format into one document in the memory part 7. |
