PURPOSE: To effectively perform the parallel design work in the distributed system by easily keeping the data compatibility in the distributed system on the method and device for confirming data compatibility in the distributed system. CONSTITUTION: In the distributed system where a server 1 equipped with a data base 5 and clients 2 and 3 using the data in a data base 5 are connected, the server 1 stores the data distribution address information of the data base 5. When the server 1 accepts the edition log information from the client 3, it stores the edition log information in the client 3, then the client 2 confirms the data compatibility at the client 2 based on the data distribution destination information or the edition log information stored at the server 1 side.
