CELL POTENTIAL MEASURING APPARATUS

PURPOSE: To acurately and efficiently measure potential by arranging an integrat ed cell setting device having an electric connection means to apply electrical signals to minute electrodes while fetching the electrical signals from the minute electrodes. CONSTITUTION: A cell as sample is set on a cell setting part of an integrated cell setting device 1 and a plurality of minute electrodes contact the cell. A stimulation signal from a computer 30 is applied to the cell via a D/A converter 32 and an isolator 33 referring to an image of the cell obtained by an optical observation means 20. In other words, the stimulation signal is applied between two points selected from among 64 minute electrodes of the integrated cell setting device 1. An induced potential between the minute electrodes and the potential of a culture liquid is inputted to the computer 30 via 64 channels of highly sensitive amplifiers 34 and A/D converters 31. Then, the potential is outputted to a display device 23 or the like through a necessary signal processing. Measurement of a spontaneous potential without application of the stimulation signal is performed in the same way.
