PURPOSE: To facilitate the operation method at the time of setting a line seg ment or a circular arc as a guide line along which a character string is ar ranged. CONSTITUTION: When the starting point Ps 21 and the endpoint of a guide line are inputted, a line segment connecting them is initially displayed and in this display state. when an instruction requiring the enlarging of the bulge of the line segment, the line segment is changed to a circular arc 20 having a predetermined minimum bulge and thereafter, the bulge of the circular arc is enlarged timewise every time when instructions are inputted. Moreover, in a state in which the circular arc is displayed, when an instruction requiring the reducing of the bulge of the circular arc, the bulge of the circular arc is made small timewise until the acircular is returned to the line segment. |
