PURPOSE: To obtain a separate type air conditioner being excellent in an operation efficiency and durability and enabling reduction of noise and a method for installation thereof CONSTITUTION: In an air conditioner 1 separated into an indoor machine 3 and an outdoor machine 5, the outdoor machine 5 is disposed in a space 26 under the floor of a house. Therefore no space for installation of the outdoor machine is needed outdoors. Since air under the floor is cooler in summer and warmer in winter than outdoor air outside the house due to the effect of terrestrial heat, besides, heat exchange of an outdoor heat exchanger is conducted sufficiently and an operation efficiency is excellent. Since the outdoor machine is disposed substantially inside the house, moreover, it is not exposed to wind and rain and direct rays of the sun and, therefore, it is excellent in durability. Since the outdoor machine is disposed under the floor, besides, the noise can be intercepted by the house and, therefore, the noise to the neighborhood is reduced. |
