PURPOSE: To provide a simple brushless motor capable of being started in a desired direction in a short time with reliability without reverse rotation. CONSTITUTION: A flat brushless motor 10 consists of a stationarily placed stator 11; a disk-shaped rotor magnet 14b that is supported opposite one side of the stator in such a manner that it can be freely rotated, and that is multipole- magnetized in such a manner that the N poles and the S poles are alternately positioned; and a driving coil 15 placed on one side of the stator in the direction of circumference. Optical patterns 17 the lightness of which differs in the direction of circumference, are formed on the surface of the rotor magnet. Optical sensors 16 are placed on the stator opposite the optical patterns. |
