PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for formation of excess films, to save excess processing stages and to make it possible to take a large necessary visual field angle in a manner as not to generate color mixing even if an incident angle is large. CONSTITUTION: This color liquid crystal panel is provided with transparent upper electrodes 2 on the rear surface of upper glass 1, is provided with color filters 3 of R, G, B segmented by black stripes 4 atop this upper glass 1, is provided with patterned transparent lower electrodes 6 atop lower glass 5 and is provided with a liquid crystal layer 7 within a spacing where the transparent upper electrodes 2 and the transparent lower electrodes 6 are disposed to face each other. The color liquid crystal panel is so formed as to satisfy S1=S2+2(a-dG.tanθ0), where θ0=sin<-1> (na/nG.sinθ0), a>0, S1-S2<=a(when S1>S2), when S1, S2 are defined as the lengths on one side of the color filters and transparent lower electrodes, (a) is defined as the spacing between the adjacent transparent lower electrodes, dG as the thickness of the upper glass, na, nG are defined as the refractive indices of air and the upper glass, ϕ0 is defined as the required visual field angle incident on the panel and θ0 as the incident angle at which the incident light of the required visual field angle enters the inside of the panel by refraction. |
