ROTARY DISK-DATA STORAGE DEVICE AND RELATED DEVICE/METHOD

PURPOSE: To efficiently store multimedia data by making an actuator follow up a spiral track on a disk surface. CONSTITUTION: An actuator assembly 205 of a magnetic disk drive storage unit 102 is arranged on one side of a rotary disk 201 and driven by an electromagnetic motor 207 to rotate on a shaft 206, thereby positioning a transducer head 209. A spiral data track 310 on the reverse surface of the disk 201 has a sequence of data blocks spirally from the outer edge to the inner edge of the disk 201, and a data track 311, on the other hand, has a sequence of data block spirally from the inner edge to the outer edge of the disk 201. The tracks 310 and 311 have the data blocks and servo sectors to be interleaved to enable a drive to recognize the track positions and follow up the centers of the tracks.
