<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the performance of radio telephone communication by vertically positioning the antenna of radio telephone during normal use. SOLUTION: The radio telephone to be used for a satellite radio telephone system has an antenna 12 in semispherical gain pattern. Since it is possible for a satellite to exist at any arbitrary place in air, it is necessary to put the antenna gain pattern in order with a semisphery on a user. This is achieved by an antenna positioning device equipped with the antenna 12 having a wedge- shaped hinge face fitted through a pin 38 and a socket onto an attachment face 36. The attachment face 36 is inclined downward from a face 24 specified by a front face 26 of radio telephone 10. By combining the wedge-shaped hinge face and the downward inclined attachment face 36, the antenna 12 is located at an angleϕfrom the face 24 at operating position. As a result, the antenna 12 is vertically oriented when held by the user during normal use.</p> |
