PURPOSE: To prevent the excessive increase of pressing force between the scroll members of a scroll type compressor and to prevent the occurrence of abnormal wear, seizure, and breakage of a vortex type blade. CONSTITUTION: The drive key 10 of a driven crank mechanism 6 to intercouple a moving scroll member and a drive shaft (an expansion part 5a) is pivotally mounted on the end part of the drive shaft by means of a pin 10a. A compression reaction force F of fluid exerted on the center Cb of a bush to support the moving scroll member has a component FR of force in the direction of the drive key, which forms a force by which the moving scroll member is pressed against the fixed scroll member regardless of a centrifugal force exerted on an eccentric mass. Since the magnitude of the component FR of force is changed according to the magnitude of the inclination angleθof the drive key, the pivotally mounted drive key is energized in one way by a resilient body 12 and the inclination angleθis reduced according to the increase of compression reaction force F. In this case, even in a case of liquid compression during starting wherein the compression reaction force F is abnormally increased, the pressing force can be suppressed to a proper value.
