Waterproof sealing device for multi-pole electrical plug connectors

The sealing device has a contact element sealing bung (4) enclosing each electrical contact connection (13) so that it bridges the plug gap (6) and seals the contact connection against the ingress of external influences e.g. liquid and dirt. The plug gaps have a cross-section slightly smaller than that of the sealing bung, so that when the plug connector housings (2,3) are fitted together the sealing bung penetrates slightly i to the contact element chambers and come into shape-locking contact with pressure seats on their inner surfaces.
