METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CREATION AND CONTROL OF PACKAGE CONTAINING PLURALITY OF DOCUMENTS IN PRINTING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store plural documents in a single package and to print out these documents as a group of sets collated with each other by linking a job including one or more finish instructions to the package via the reference or a pointer. SOLUTION: The scanned image data which are inputted to a controller 7 from a processor 25 of a scanner part 6 are compressed by an image compressor/processor 51 of an image input controller 50. Then the compressed image data are stored in an image file together with some relative image descriptor which gives the specific information (e.g. a pointer pointing the compressed image data or a pointer pointing an image slice pointer) to a slice pointer or an image. A job manager screen is shown on a UI display screen to access the package lists contained in the controller 7. Then all package lists are shown when a package file icon is selected by a cursor.
