摘要

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject chopped strand capable of providing a formed body efficiently reflecting characteristics of a mesophase pitch-based carbon fiber and having performance excellent in reinforcing property, electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity, etc., in formed body obtained also from conditions having high carbon fiber content. CONSTITUTION: This mesophase pitch-based carbon fiber chopped strand for direct injection molding is obtained by carrying 10-30wt.% of an epoxy resin being solid at room temperature and having at least 15wt.% of bromine content or an unmodified novolak type phenol resin being solid at room temperature and having <=2000 molecular weight.
