ADAPTOR WITH VALVE FOR MEDICAL APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adapter with a valve by which loss of fluid and capture of air can be minimized during mounting and removal. SOLUTION: An adapter 10 with a valve has a main body. The main body has a base end 22, a terminal end 24 and a piercing passage 26 having an inner surface. The passage 26 has a chamber 30 formed of a base end shoulder part 32 and a divided terminal shoulder part 34. The chamber 30 is positioned in the middle of the base end 22 and the terminal end 24. The adapter is included in the chamber. The adopter contains a valve 40 by which fluid stream within the passage is intercepted or allowed selectively. The valve 40 contains a slender elastic member 42. The elastic member 42 is compressed between the terminal end shoulder part and the base end shoulder part in the axial direction and accelerated to an always-closed position. The base end of the elastic member is cooperated with the base end shoulder part to form a liquid-tight seal. Fluid stream passing through the passage is intercepted by the liquid-tight seal. The adapter further contains a pusher 50 for compressing the elastic member selectively in the axial direction, thereby fluid stream passing through the passage is allowed.
