PURPOSE: To slice food on a bearer very efficiently without generating waste by providing a bearer, having a placing face for placing the food to be sliced, below plural linear travel parts. CONSTITUTION: In a position above food F placed on a bearer 10, plural parallel linear travel parts 5A, 5B, 5C,... formed of wire members are made travel in the tense state alternately in reverse directions. The bearer 10 is then moved up by the operation of a rod 12 so as to bring the food F on the bearer 10 into contact with the linear travel parts 5A, 5B, 5C,... to start cutting. The bearer 10 is further moved up to make the linear travel parts 5A, 5B, 5C,... enter the respectively corresponding narrow grooves 10A, 10B,... of the bearer 10 to slice the food F completely.
