Gravity decantation device for solid or liq. droplets, initially present in a fluid of different density, and comprising a flask in which the main liq. flow occurs This flask has inlet allowing the speed of flow to be homogenised before it enters the sepn. zone; at least one separator made of a number of juxtaposed parallel long straight pipes, inclined relative to the horizontal, through which the fluid flow is laminar during treatment, and an outlet. The last of the separators slopes in the direction of flow and in the opposite direction to the vertical decantation of the sepd. droplets, forming a barrier to their passage. The device also contains at least one receiver and hydraulic devices placed between the main flow and the receives to prevent the flow causing turbulence in the receivers that might remix the contents.
