In a device (1) for dispensing doses of a viscous medium (4) having a regulating member (31) movable against the force of a spring (34), the regulating member is designed as a slide (32) that acts directly on the medium (4) and with which is associated a reception chamber (33) in communication with a reservoir (11). The reception chamber (33) is provided with a discharge line (27) in which there is a stop valve (37 or 35) that acts in the discharge line and in a supply line (26) depending on the working position of the slide (32). This design allows a selected amount of medium to be withdrawn from the reservoir (11) and directly applied on a toothbrush (3).
