Modular side wall cladding system for railway carriages

The system has a first air duct (1) on the lower edge of a window, and a second air duct (2) near the floor. Both ducts extend along the side surface of the carriage. Side wall cladding (3) is provided between the ducts, and is connected to the second duct. The connection of at least one duct to the cladding, may result from a projection on the cladding, which engages in a groove (10) on the duct. The first duct may also have a groove (11) for fastening a table, or for installing a lighting system, preferably a fibre-optic cable.
