Prodn. of velvets of novel appearance

In velvet prodn., warp threads are put onto warp beams (13), i.e. winding cylinders, a binding warp (10) and a base warp being used. They are moved and controlled for shedding, by heald frames from cams, or by a dobby. A figuring warp (11) is wound on a warp beam (14), and controlled and moved for shedding by means of a dobby or a Jacquard machine. The nap threads (7, 8, 9) have the same, or different colours, and are supplied from a creel frame (15). They are similarly moved and controlled by a dobby or Jacquard. In addition to the method described, suitable equipment for the purpose, is also claimed. The appts. used in the above process is also claimed.
