The rack (3) has upper (4) and lower couplers (5) for securing it to the car body. The upper couplers are designed for linking to the roof-rack (6), while the lower coupler links to the trailer hitch (7). The carrier has a load distribution effective between the roof rack and the trailer hitch, even with varying load. The rack may be a vertical, L-shaped carrier (29) with horizontal traverses which form a frame and have couplers. The load distributor may be connected to the traverses facing the trailer hitch and coupled to the latter.
