Home gardeners are known to advance and speed up the growth of seeds and plants in cold frames and green houses. Covers of glass, fibre glass or plastic may be placed over the basic frame, to store the energy of the sun or to protect seeds and plants against low temperatures or frost. The covers are placed and secured by any convenient method and removed and stored when not required.
