Recycling insulating and/or laminated glass panels

Insulating and/or laminated glass panels are loaded into a basket (6) and charged into a fluidised bed furnace operating at a temp. between 450 and 500 deg C, remaining there for about one hr.. All organic substances are combusted. The basket is then transported to a further station at which the basket is positioned under a water spray unit (13) with nozzles (15) which quench the basket and contents with water. Glass shatters and particles fall through the grid-like basket to a conveyor, while remaining metal parts are sepd. for further recycling.
