<p>A ganglioside GM3 analog having the sialic acid residue fluorinated at the 9-position, represented by general formula (I), and an intermediate therefor, wherein R represents lower aliphatic acyl; R1 represents hydrogen or lower alkyl; R2 through R5 represent each independently hydrogen, lower aliphatic acyl or aromatic acyl; R11 represents linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated C¿1?-C30 aliphatic hydrocarbyl; and n represents an integer of 0 to 20. It is useful as medicines such as an inhibitor for influenza virus and an inhibitor for cancer cell growth or metastasis.</p> |
