Thermal fuse mfr. for resistive tracks on insulated surface

On e.g. a steel sheet (10) to which a ceramic coating has been applied, low-resistance tracks are joined together by fusible solder bridges (38`). The gaps are e.g. 0.5 mm wide, bridged by solder which is deposited and machined to a thickness (d) of 0.22 mm. For a solder with compsn. Sn62Sb36Ag2, a temp. of 180 deg.C brings about fusion causing the material within the gap to be retracted by inherent cohesive forces on to the end of the tracks.
