The fax device for exchange of spoken messages contains the usual reading device (LE) for written documents, and alternatively usable speech recording unit (SAE) and besides the usual printing unit (DE), it further contains a alternatively usable speech reproduction or playback unit (SWE) and is connected into circuit so that with use of the speech or voice recording unit (SAE) at the sending fax device, the speech message is transmitted into the speech reproduction unit (SWE) of the receiving fax device.
