Trailer for use with cut and uncut timber

The trailer has a king-pin for connecting to a tractor unit, and has running gear with two or three axles. Its frame can be separated into two parts, in the front third behind the king-pin, in order to use the separated rear part with its running gear, as a chasing trailer. The frame may be separated by hydro-pneumatic or manual mechanisms, and the vehicle may be equipped with hydraulic power steering for the rear axle unit. An air bellows or hydraulic cylinder may also be provided to support the uncoupled front part of the trailer, until it is stabilised by a load.
