<p>PURPOSE: To provide a control equipment whose degree of freedom can be expanded up to six. CONSTITUTION: This equipment is attached to by sensors 110 to 135 which are sensitive to the force of a user's contact and enables the generation of position control and rotation control inputs that are intuitive and easy to understand for the user. It is suitable for the control of the cursor of an interactive computer and for the control of a display body on a computer graphics, or for the control of heavy machinery such as a crane, a forklift truck, etc., because a user does not have to operate a controller itself about the generation of control input which has six degrees of freedom. A position control signal is generated by the user's operation like 'push' or 'drag' (dragging). A rotation control signal is generated by the operation such as 'push', 'twist', or 'gesture of rotation'. Although the same sensors 110 to 135 are used to generate both position control and rotation control signals, in such cases, the selection of the signal is decided by the intensity of force given to the sensors 110 to 135.</p> |
