In assembling an ornamental button body assembly, a tubular clasp having a flange 4 is inserted into a recess formed in the rear surface of an ornamental button body, the flange having a diameter substantially equal to the mouth diameter of the recess. Then an annular spring is inserted between the inside wall of the recess and the flange while being compressed, whereupon the annular spring is restored to expand in the recess to secure the tubular clasp 5 to the ornamental button body.
