PURPOSE:To provide a display controller and a display control method for protecting privacy by adding limitation to video images photographed by a monitor camera. CONSTITUTION:A video conference system 1 is provided with a personal computer main body 14, the monitor camera 10, a keyboard 20 and a communication channel 24. When an operator sets an area undesired to be viewed by a communicating party to the video images of object images photographed by the monitor camera 10 as the mute area, a video data processing circuit incorporated in the personal computer main body 14 stores the mute area in a mute area counter. When the monitor camera 10 is rotated in a panning direction, the mute area changed accompanying to the rotation is calculated and a video image area undesired to be viewed is not displayed. The privacy is protected and security is protected. |
