The process is for shape generation by hot isostatic pressing with the use of a previously shaped, hermetically sealed powder-filled sheet-metal capsule (2). Non-shrinking inserts (1) are located in certain regions of the pressure space in such a way that during compaction, both the compaction motion of the powder (3) and the shape change of the capsule (2) takes place in the direction of the inserts, and are limited by these inserts. Certain regions of the capsule (2) are connected to the inserts (1) before or during the compaction process.
