Navigation system for track guided vehicle equipped with on board control unit

The system coordinates geographic coordinates of specified stretch points from the locally fixed control point to the vehicles. The vehicles carry units for stretch independent communication of their geographic positions obtained using GPS, radio or inertial navigation system. The travel course of the vehicle is determined independent of the respective stretch and/or related to the stretch, with the assistance of the coordinate transmission from the locally fixed control point. Positional coordinates are made depending on the results of the vehicle side distance or displacement measurement.
