Traction control system for motor vehicle

The traction control system operates brakes on the driving wheels to counteract wheel spin. The control system has programmed temperature rises for the brake pads related to normal braking and no traction control braking. The rate of cooling of the heated brake pads is also stored w.r.t. brake pad temperature. The rates of change of temperature are logged in relation to the engine coolant temperature, outside temperature, engine torque, wheel speed etc. to cover a wide range of operating conditions. The wheel spin control also regulates the engine torque and provides for a traction control balanced between the wheel braking and the torque control.
