PURPOSE:To arrange a side fence to serve as support in getting on or off a bed in addition to functioning as a fence and to be housed below a side frame during the non-use period. CONSTITUTION:A pair of struts 6 and 7 are mounted on a base shaft 5 near both end parts of a hollow base frame 4 attached on a side frame and a link 8 and a regulation link 9 are mounted on the base shaft 5 of the struts 6 and 7. The link 8 and the regulation link 9 are linked with an interlocking rod 10 and a spring member 11 is fitted to energize the interlocking rod 10 in one direction. A fence body 12 is mounted rotatably between top parts of the pair of the struts 6 and 7 and a retaining mechanism 13 is attached to a point where the strut 7 is mounted on the fence body 12 to restrict the fence body 12 so that the struts 6 and 7 are supported being inclined or vertical. This eliminates the need for loading or unloading according to the condition of application, and a simple structure and an easy operation are combined to improve ease of handling significantly. |
